The Flint Metro League proudly announces MacKenzie Ramey of Flint Kearsley and Nolan Day of Fenton as Athletes of the Month for May.
MacKenzie is a three sport athlete lettering in volleyball, basketball and track and field in each of her 4 years at Kearsley. In volleyball, she was a 2nd team All Metro player as a senior and a 1st team All Metro selection as both a junior and senior in basketball for the Hornets. In track, MacKenzie has been a two time state qualifier in track and earned 1st Team All State honors last year, placing 3rd in the shot put. She also achieved 1st Team All Metro honors in the shot put as a junior. MacKenzie has a 3.4 GPA and will attend Saginaw Valley State University next year on a track scholarship.
Nolan Day of Fenton has been a standout member of both the cross-country and track teams for all 4 years at Fenton HS. He was named to the 1st Team All Metro cross country team three times and helped the Tigers to 3 Metro championships, 3 state qualifying appearances and a Regional championship. In Track, Nolan was named 1st team All league in the 4x800 relay and was a state qualifier as a freshman. He has been a member of the 2-time Metro League champs as a sophomore and junior. Nolan has a 4.079 GPA and plans to study International Business at the University of Michigan or Indiana University.
