Three bowling teams from the Flint Metro League, two boys' teams and one girls' team, finished in the top two at MHSAA regional competition to qualify for the MHSAA state finals. 

The girls' team from Kearsley won the Division 2 regional once again in convincing fashion and will head to the state finals in pursuit of another state title.  Five Hornet bowlers qualified for the individual portion of the tournament led by Sara Ritchie in 1st place, Allison Robbins in 2nd, Emilea Sturk in 3rd, Alison Eible in 6th and Megan Timm in 8th.  Also qualifying from the Metro League were Tori Vanderfuur from Swartz Creek in 2nd, Cassandra Most from Linden in 4th and Rebekah Muzyk from Goodrich in 6th.

The Swartz Creek Dragon (D1) and Kearsley Hornets (D2) each finished in 2nd place in  Regionals in the boys division and will advance to the state final team competition.  In singles competition, the Metro League had 7 boys qualify for the state finals:  in D1, Nick Johnson in 7th and Griffin Henderson in 9th; and in D2 Howard Hammond 2nd, Gavin Haack in 6th,  Nicholas Ruggles in 9th from Kearsley; Reese Martindale in 4th from Clio; and Justin Mallory from Holly.  In D3, Corunna’s Brady Cornell finished in 2nd.
 
The Division 1 State Finals for this year will be held at Thunderbowl Bowl Lanes in Allen Park; D2 at Century Bowl in Waterford and Jax 60 in Jackson for D3 on March 26-27.

54 individual wrestlers from Flint Metro League schools will compete at the MHSAA Individual wrestling Regionals March 27. Among the top-four finishers at District competition, the league had 15  champions.

​Flushing, Goodrich, Owosso and Lake Fenton each won a wrestling team District and will now advance to MHSAA Regional competition.  All matches will be held on Wednesday February 24.  The winners will advance to the quarterfinal round, which will be held at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo on March 30th.
 
Flushing, a D1 District champion will wrestle against Midland at 5:00pm on Wednesday March 24th at Davison HS.
 
D2 Goodrich will wrestle Croswell-Lexington and Lake Fenton and Owosso will go head to head at Lake Fenton HS at 5:00pm on Wednesday March 24. 

​Kearsley captured a MHSAA District Title to lead a group of four Metro League teams on to Regional competition for a state title.

In Division 2, the Hornets scored 748.58 points to win the title over 2nd place Fenton who had 746.08 points.  Linden finished in 4th place with 716.92 points to also advance.  These three teams will compete in Regional competition at Walled Lake Western on Tuesday March 23 at 5:00pm.
 
In Division 3, Lake Fenton scored 716.84 points to finish in 4th place and will advance to Regionals held at Novi on Tuesday March 23 at 5:30pm.
 
The state final competition for Division 2 will be held on Friday March 27 and Division 3 on Saturday March 26 at the Breslin Center at Michigan State.

The Fenton Tigers have captured their 10th straight Metro League Championship finishing the league season with an undefeated 6-0 dual season record and a 1st place finish at the Metro League meet with 508 points. The Tigers, led by Coach of the Year Brad Jones, finished 127 points over 2nd place Swartz Creek.

The league meet was exciting with 5 new records established.  Fenton's Max Haney was a part of 2 record setting relays and set 2 individual records in the 200 Medley Relay and the 500 Freestyle.  Jack Fries from Fenton set a new record in the 100 Backstroke and was a member of 2 record setting relays.  Fenton set a new record in the 200 Free Relay with a team of Jack Fries, Kaz Sieja, Max Haney and Gavin Crews with a time of 1:29.43.  The Fenton 400 Freestyle Relay team of Max Haney, Kaz Sieja, Jack Fries and Gavin Crews set a new record with a time of 3:16.96.
