The Hornets finished the team qualifying rounds seeded in 1st place and proceeded to knock off Coldwater 1315-1135. Kearsley then defeated Charlotte in the semi-finals 1332-1264 to set up the showdown between the #1 and #2 seeds for the title. Kearsley squared off against Tecumseh, a team they had beat soundly last year in the finals, and walked away with a 1352-1239 victory and a D2 State Championship.
In the boys' D2 action, Flint Kearsley qualified in 7th but lost to New Boston Huron 1277-1359. Owosso boys finished in 13th place in the qualifying round.
In the singles portion of the State Finals, the Metro League again had bowlers contending for titles. In D1, Evelyn Cano from Flushing qualified in 12th place but lost in the quarterfinals. In D2, Kearsley's Evelyn Eible (14th) and Imari Blond (1st) both qualified with Blond advancing to the quarters before losing. In the boys' division, Owosso's Tom Trecha qualified in 3rd but did not advance.
