Sabrina Hall from Fenton HS and Justin Schlaack from Swartz Creek HS have been named as the December Athletes of the Month by the Flint Metro League.
Sabrina is a standout swimmer for the accomplished Tiger swim team. She has been a 4 year member of the team serving as team captain in her senior season. Sabrina has competed at the Division 2 State Finals qualifying in the top 16 with 3 relay teams as a sophomore, junior and senior. Hall also qualified for the D2 MISCA meet each year of HS. The 6 time Flint Metro League champion has also been a part of the record breaking 200 IM Relay team in both the Metro League and the Genesee County meet in 2018. Sabrina also excels in the classroom with a 4.07 GPA. She has been a 3 time member on the Academic All State swim team with the Tigers and qualified this year for Individual Academic All State. Sabrina will pursue her undergrad degree in either history, law or political science and may also continue her swim career at the collegiate level.
Jusin Schlaack is a two sport athlete for Swartz Creek and a two time MHSFCA All-Stater in football. The unanimous First Team Flint Metro League offensive lineman served as the team captain this season for the play-off bound Dragons. The Football Coaches Association named Schlaack to the D2 First Team as a Sr and was HM as an offensive lineman as a Jr. Schlaack earned 2nd Team All Metro honors in both the discus and the shot put as a junior for the Creek. Ha also holds a state record from Mid Michigan Powerlifting. Justin plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy and hopes to continue with either track or football in college.
