The Metro League added Boys Swim as a league sport in 1971, however league rules require at least half of the member school to sponsor a sport in order for it to be considered an official league sport. There were not enough FML schools to sponsor boys sim/dive between 1976-77 and 2004-05 for it to be considered a league sport.
In addition to their dual undefeated league season at 5-0, the Tigers dominated the league meet winning by 241 points over all opponents. Three Metro League records were broken at the meet:
- 200 Yd. Medley Relay Swartz Creek/Flushing: Ian Barbour, Joshua Stemczynski, Peter Adams, Daniel Burkhardt
1:43.18 (broke previous record set by SCF in 2017) - 200 Yd. Individual Medley Evan Bartow of Fenton 2:03.61 (broke previous record of Zac Miceli of Fenton in 2016)
- 100 Yd. Backstroke Joel Diccion of Fenton 55.63 (broke previous record of Austin Landis of Fenton in 2015)
Brad Jones of Fenton was named the Flint Metro League Boys Swim Coach of the Year for the second straight year.
Owosso received 4 nominations by league opponents as the team that showed the best sportsmanship. Fenton and Brandon each received one nomination.
