In the boys competition, Fenton swept the dual season with a 7-0 record and also took first place in the league championship meet with 194.83 points, a huge 78 point margin over the second place team. Fenton’s last boys Metro Championship was in 2006.
Flushing boys 4x200 Relay team of Aidan Harrison, Julien York, Leon Stocker and Nick Morrison set a new Flint Metro League record of 1:30.18 breaking the record set in 2001 by Linden.
The Fenton girls team repeated as league champions by sweeping the dual portion of the Metro with a 7-0 record and won the league championship meet by scoring 180 points, a 47 point margin over the second place team.
Flushing’s Jessi Lindstrom broke a long standing Metro League record in the 3200 M run with a time of 11:37.59. Fenton’s 4x800 relay team of Brenna Bleicher, Cambria Tiemann, Jenna Keiser and Alexa Keiser ran a 9:35.17 to shatter the previous record of 9:47.4 set in 2015 by Flushing.
