whMargaret Berry of Fenton HS and Jordan Klapko of Owosso have been selected as the August Flint Metro Athlete's of the Month to kick off the 2017-18 school year.
Margaret is a three-sport athlete while maintaining a 4.07 GPA at Fenton. In a highly accomplished junior year, she helped the Tigers to a District Championship and to the Regional Finals in basketball and also led her team to a Metro League championship and earned First Team All-Metro honors on the golf course. In perhaps her strongest sport, Margaret is a two time all-state soccer player earning honorable mention in her sophomore year and second team all state in her junior year.
Owosso's Jordan Klapko is also a scholar-athlete with a 3.8 GPA while lettering in basketball and baseball for the Trojans. He has lettered in baseball since his freshman year and named to all-conference and all-district teams in each year. As a junior, Jordan earned First Team All-State honors as a catcher with a .478 batting average. His season total of 45 RBI's led Shiawassee County as well as the Lansing Area in RBI's.
