After the conclusion of the fall and winter seasons, Fenton continues to lead the league with 65 points, 6.5 points ahead of second place Flushing. Fenton has won the last 4 all-sports championships and 16 of the last 17 races.
In the Stars Division, Corunna tallied 28 points for the winter season to finish 2.5 points ahead of Clio and 2 points ahead of Goodrich. The Mustangs won the Stars championship in both wrestling and competitive cheer and finished second in boys’ basketball.
Goodrich continues to lead the Stars with 64.5 points, a commanding 16 point lead over second place Clio.
For each varsity sport, a school receives one point for each team it finishes ahead of in the final standings, with the league champion receiving a bonus point.
With the anticipated addition of boys lacrosse this year as a Metro League sport, there are eight spring sports yet to compete in the 2019-20 league sports year. We can expect a lot of movement in the all-sports competition between now and June.
