Flushing HS made a clean sweep in Metro boys tennis competition this season with a perfect 8-0 dual record followed by winning the post-season Metro tournament. The victory marks the 4th straight Metro title for the Raiders since joining the league in 2014.
Flushing won 7 of 8 flights in the league tourney with winners as follows:

William Wykes (Flushing) – 2 Singles
Remy Book (Fenton) – 3 Singles
Ethan Dudek (Flushing) – 4 Singles
Jake Morrison & Ryan Mignerey (Flushing) – 1 Doubles
Luke MacWebb & Ben Mitchell (Flushing) – 2 Doubles
Jacob Dore & Ryan Kleimola (Flushing) – 3 Doubles
Layton Anderson & Declan Mulqueen (Flushing) – 4 Doubles
Congratulations to Fenton’s Renee Hand who was selected by Metro coaches as the Coach of the Year. Fenton received 3 votes from league opponents for exhibiting the best sportsmanship throughout the season followed by Clio with two votes and Brandon, Corunna, Flushing and Owosso with one vote apiece.
The Raiders followed up their league championship with a second place effort at the MHSAA Division 2 tournament qualifying the team to move on to the state tennis finals. The D2 championship will be held in the Holland area on Oct. 15-16.
