Flushing High School started its boys golf season by winning the Pre-Season Flint Metro League Jamboree by three strokes over Fenton. The league's overall golf standings are determined by combining the pre-season tournament results with dual match records and the final league tournament results. In addition, the two league tournaments are used to determine the all-league team.
Fenton's John Lloyd shot a 72 over the 18-hole Fenton Farms course for medalist honors, two shots short of the league record set in 1977 by the Tiger's Dave Hanson. Joe Montpas led Flushing with an 80, followed by teammate Nick Winiarski and Holly's Mitchell Hughes with 83's. Kearsley's Evan Flood rounded out the top five by carding an 84.
