Flint Metro softball teams Linden and Owosso advance to MHSAA Quarterfinals after winning Division 2 Regional Championships.
Linden handled Imlay City 9-4 in the first game of Regional competition before advancing to the finals against Essexville-Garber and beating them 4-3 in 8 innings. The Eagles will travel to St Clair Community College on Wednesday June 15 at 5:30 to face Marysville in the D2 Quarter Final round.
Owosso easily defeated Haslett in their first game of the day and advanced to the finals against Lakeland. The Trojans battled from behind to tie the game at 1-1 at the end of 7 innings before exploding with 5 runs in the 10th for the victory. Owosso will play Wayland on Wednesday June 15 at Bailey Park in Battle Creek in the Quarterfinals.
Fenton lost a close game in the D1 Regional final to Traverse City West 4-5 after defeating Oxford 12-5 in their first game.
