Alia Frederick from Linden and distance runner Dominic Dimambro from Fenton have been named Athletes of the Month by the Flint Metro League.  Alia was also selected as the Flint Kiwanis Athlete of the month and now is a contender for the Flint-area Female Athlete of the Year title, to be named in June by the Kiwanis Club of Flint.

Three sport All-Stater, Alia Frederick has been a standout athlete for the Eagles in cross country, soccer and track.  As a dual sport athlete last spring, Alia earned 1st team All-State in the 300m hurdles and also honorable mention on the D2 All-State soccer team. In her junior year, Alia earned 1st team All-State in cross country with a 3rd place overall individual finish at the State Meet.  As a sophomore, Alia was named to the 1st Team All-State soccer team.  Alia has earned league 1st team recognition as well as a Metro Scholar Athlete in all three sports.  Alia also excels in the classroom where she earned Academic All-State honors in both cross country and track.  She plans to attend Eastern Michigan University and will major in biology with plans to study orthodontics.

Fenton's Dominic Dimambro, a stellar runner, was the Flint Metro League selection for male Athlete of the Month.  A two-sport athlete excelling in cross country and track, Dominic has many accolades both on the track and in the classroom.  As a junior, he earned All-State recognition in cross country, a top 75 finish at the national Footlocker Midwest Regional and was named 1st Team All-Metro.  He has been a state meet qualifier as both a freshman and junior in track and placed 12th individually at the state meet in the 1600 meter run last spring.  Upon graduation, Dominic plans to pursue a degree in mathematics and natural sciences while participating in intercollegiate athletics.
