On Friday, September 28, the Swartz Creek Dragons defeated Linden 49 to 28 and broke two long standing Flint Metro League football records in their victory.
Individually, Max Murphy had 23 carries for 371 yards and 5 TD's (only 1 shy of the TD record per game) to set a new single game rushing record. Max breaks the record previously held by Darrell Thomas of Lapeer East vs. Holly, Oct. 20, 1978 of 358 yards.
The Swartz Creek offense also set a new record for the most rushing yards in one game by one team with 53 rushes for 564 yards breaking the record established by Lapeer West vs. Holly on Oct. 20, 1989 of 557 yards with 58 rushes.
