Following Metro championships in six league sports, the Fenton Tigers have a significant lead in the All-Sports trophy following the fall season. Fenton has won 36 of 48 total races dating back to the inception of the Flint Metro league in 1968-69.
For each varsity sport, a school receives one point for each team it finishes ahead of in the final standings, with the league champion receiving a bonus point. Fenton won league championships in girls' golf, girls' and boys’ cross country, football, girls’ swim and dive and volleyball this fall, and placed second in boys’ soccer and third in boys' tennis.
There are seven winter sports and eight spring sports yet to compete for in the 2017-18 league sports year, so there is plenty of time for movement in the all-sports competition between now and June.
