The Cage in Swartz Creek was once again the site for the Flint Metro League's annual Student Leadership/Sportsmanship Summit. This marked the 18th year that the Flint Metro League has hosted a gathering of student-athlete leaders from every league school to enhance the leadership skills of this key high school demographic.
The league again brought in nationally-recognized facilitator and author Craig Hillier to lead this year's all-day workshop. Student attendees were given a copy of Hillier's book "Playing Beyond the Scoreboard".
League officials believe this is the longest-running program of this nature in the state of Michigan.
